Forrest Commons is Southern Summit Development’s proposed 18-acre mixed-use community in LaGrange, Georgia. The vision brings homes, small businesses, everyday services, and shared gathering spaces into one neighborhood—making it easier to live, work, and connect close to home.
Homes with room for different ways of living
The concept combines residential homes and townhomes with live-work options for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Planning includes Vista 1307 and Urban Townhome 2000 models, with townhomes along the perimeter and homes within the community. Final layouts, home counts, and specifications will be established as planning advances.
Local business, healthcare, and daily essentials
Planned commercial space includes a small-format grocery store, urgent care, community services, and flexible spaces for local businesses. The Stax Box Park concept adds a place for food vendors, emerging brands, and community events. Grocery and healthcare partners are still being identified; no anchor tenants are confirmed.
Designed for connection and resilience
The vision includes green space, a proposed connection to The Thread, and microtransit linking homes with services and the wider community. Autonomous shuttle service is a longer-term concept under evaluation. Energy planning explores integrated solar on approximately half of the buildings, battery storage, and a community microgrid, alongside smart-home features and efficient building systems.
Where the project stands
The target site has existing utility access. Land acquisition, financing, detailed design, approvals, and anchor partnerships remain part of the development process. Images show design concepts rather than completed construction, and proposed amenities and timing may evolve.
